About this entry

JAG officers handle courts-martial, legal advice to commanders, contracts and international humanitarian law. The branch recruits LLB graduates through Direct Short Service Commission.

It is one of the few branches where legal practice inside uniform carries the authority of a commissioned officer from day one.

Eligibility requirements

  • LLB degree (3 or 5 years) with minimum 2nd division.
  • Age 21–28 years; male and female candidates eligible.
  • Bar enrolment / legal experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Height: male 5′4″, female 5′0″; medically fit.
  • Clear initial test, ISSB and professional interview.

How to apply - step by step

  1. Register online on the official Pakistan Army recruitment portal (joinpakarmy.gov.pk), or report to the nearest Army Selection & Recruitment Centre as advertised.
  2. Fill in personal, educational and domicile details carefully and choose your test centre.
  3. Deposit the prescribed test fee (if applicable) and keep the receipt safe.
  4. Download or collect your roll number slip with the test date and reporting time.
  5. On test day, bring original documents and reach the centre before the reporting time.
  6. Clear the initial test → physical → medical (→ ISSB for officer entries) to reach the final merit list.

Apply only on the official portal: registration happens at joinpakarmy.gov.pk. Never pay agents - Army selection itself is free apart from the advertised test fee.

Documents to bring on test day

  • Original CNIC / B-Form (and a photocopy)
  • Domicile certificate
  • All educational certificates & marks sheets (original + copies)
  • Father’s / guardian’s CNIC copy
  • 6× passport-size photographs (blue background)
  • Registration slip / roll number slip and fee receipt
  • Experience or special certificates (hafiz-e-Quran, sports, NCC etc.)
