- Aim higher later: in-service commission exams let soldiers become officers too.
What your first year looks like
Clear the pipeline and you report to your regimental centre: six months to a year of drill, weapons training, physical culture and trade instruction - with pay credited from day one. Parents meet a different son at the first passing-out parade: disciplined, fit and confident. After training, postings rotate across Pakistan, and specialist courses keep adding skills and allowances to your file.
