Which soldier trade fits you?
Every trade wears the same uniform, but the daily work differs. The General Duty soldier is the infantry backbone - weapons, fieldcraft and peak fitness. The Technical Trade soldier keeps vehicles, radios and engines alive - science subjects, workshop skills and historically the fastest promotion ladder. Registration day at the Selection Centre
Your district's advertisement names the dates; the rest is preparation. Reach the Selection Centre early with a folder of originals: matric certificate, CNIC or B-Form, domicile and photographs. Registration itself is a queue and a form, but the same ground usually hosts the tests, so expect height and weight at the gate, the 1.6 km run in batches, then the written test either the same day or the next morning. Results go up on the notice board and, these days, on the official portal as well. Men who trained the run in advance treat the day as routine. Men who did not usually meet their last morning of selection there.
Quotas, merit lists and joining letters
Soldier recruitment runs on district quotas, which is why two districts forty miles apart can carry different height standards and age windows. Merit lists go up centre by centre, and your place on your own district's list matters more than any national picture. Joining letters arrive by post and SMS with a reporting date and, in most cases, a reserved seat on a train. If your name appears, report on the date given, because waiting lists move fast and the seat does not stay warm.
