What happens at this centre
The Army Selection & Recruitment Centre, Faisalabad is where your Army journey physically begins. Everything up to ISSB happens within these gates:
- Registration & document check - CNIC/B-Form, domicile and educational certificates are verified against your online registration.
- Initial test - intelligence (verbal & non-verbal) plus academic MCQs. Many centres now use computerised e-testing.
- Physical test - 1.6 km run, push-ups, chin-ups and ditch crossing, conducted the same day or the next morning.
- Medical examination - height, weight, chest, vision, ENT and general fitness screening by military doctors.
- Preliminary interview - a short personality interview before your file goes forward (officer candidates then await the ISSB call letter).
Test day tips
- Reach before the reporting time on your roll slip - latecomers are sent back at the gate.
- Carry originals plus two photocopy sets of every document.
- Bring your own clipboard, pens and a water bottle for the physical.
- Wear joggers and comfortable clothes - you may run the same day.
- Keep your fee receipt and roll number slip in your hand, not the bag.
- Sleep well the night before; the initial test rewards a fresh mind.
Serving the cotton belt districts
Faisalabad's centre collects candidates from Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot - a catchment that travels mostly by rail, which shapes the best strategy here: overnight trains into Faisalabad city station leave you a fresh-morning candidate instead of a cramped one, and the station side of the city keeps budget lodging if you need a night. District candidates sometimes arrive with certificates issued in Urdu or with district names that changed over the years; carry domicile papers that spell your district consistently, because the verification desk will ask. Clerk aspirants from the cotton belt do particularly well once they arrive with typing speed already proven on a certificate - the clerk trade tests it early. The physical grounds are generous, but the region's summer haze means the 1.6 km run is best trained at dawn, exactly the hour your test slot will fall in.
