Army Selection & Recruitment Centre, Hyderabad

Serves lower and central Sindh districts.

What happens at this centre

The Army Selection & Recruitment Centre, Hyderabad is where your Army journey physically begins. Everything up to ISSB happens within these gates:

  1. Registration & document check - CNIC/B-Form, domicile and educational certificates are verified against your online registration.
  2. Initial test - intelligence (verbal & non-verbal) plus academic MCQs. Many centres now use computerised e-testing.
  3. Physical test - 1.6 km run, push-ups, chin-ups and ditch crossing, conducted the same day or the next morning.
  4. Medical examination - height, weight, chest, vision, ENT and general fitness screening by military doctors.
  5. Preliminary interview - a short personality interview before your file goes forward (officer candidates then await the ISSB call letter).

Test day tips

  • Reach before the reporting time on your roll slip - latecomers are sent back at the gate.
  • Carry originals plus two photocopy sets of every document.
  • Bring your own clipboard, pens and a water bottle for the physical.
  • Wear joggers and comfortable clothes - you may run the same day.
  • Keep your fee receipt and roll number slip in your hand, not the bag.
  • Sleep well the night before; the initial test rewards a fresh mind.

Lower Sindh's calmer centre

Hyderabad processes the lower province - Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Sanghar, Thatta and the city itself - and candidates who have seen both centres describe the difference in one word: room. Batches are smaller than Karachi's, queues move faster, and the staff get time to explain the pipeline to first-generation applicants, which matters in districts where the Army is not yet a family tradition. The trade-off is distance: coastal Talukas may need a pre-dawn start, so confirm your reporting time two days ahead and sleep in the city if the road is long. Documents deserve a double pass here - rural-issued domicile certificates with older spellings are the most common snag at verification, and a supporting school record smooths it out. Quota advertisements for Sindh list which trades are open to this centre each cycle.
