Alongside its uniformed intakes, ICT Police runs a permanent clerical backbone that keeps files, payrolls, litigation records and procurement moving. In September 2023 the force advertised roughly 40 such posts: Assistant (BPS-16), Stenotypist (BPS-14), Upper Division Clerk (BPS-11) and Lower Division Clerk (BPS-09), accepting applications from 25 September 2023 to 16 October 2023.
Selection was test-based through the national testing channel. Assistant applicants faced a written paper on general intelligence, English composition and office management; stenotypists were scored on shorthand and typing speed trials followed by a computer proficiency assessment; UDC and LDC candidates sat typing and basic clerical papers. Shortlisted candidates then appeared before a departmental interview board.
Appointees serve across the Capital Police headquarters, divisional offices, Police Lines and unit offices on regular government terms. This cycle has concluded; the split of posts and skill benchmarks below document the 2023 advertisement for future reference.

Eligibility requirements
- Assistant (BPS-16): graduation from a recognized university.
- Stenotypist (BPS-14): intermediate with shorthand 80/100 wpm and typing speed as notified.
- UDC (BPS-11): intermediate; LDC (BPS-09): matric with typing speed as notified.
- Age 18 to 28 years with standard government relaxation.
- Computer literacy assessed through proficiency trials where applicable.
- Applications closed on 16 October 2023.

How to apply - step by step
- Register online on the official Pakistan Army recruitment portal (joinpakarmy.gov.pk), or report to the nearest Army Selection & Recruitment Centre as advertised.
- Fill in personal, educational and domicile details carefully and choose your test centre.
- Deposit the prescribed test fee (if applicable) and keep the receipt safe.
- Download or collect your roll number slip with the test date and reporting time.
- On test day, bring original documents and reach the centre before the reporting time.
- Clear the initial test → physical → medical (→ ISSB for officer entries) to reach the final merit list.
Apply only through the official channel: use the department's own portal or the prescribed application method mentioned in the advertisement. Beware of agents and unofficial fee collectors.
