About this entry
The Special Branch handles intelligence gathering, VIP security, protocol duties and threat assessments across the federal capital. In January 2026 ICT Police advertised 250 constable posts for the wing, with registration open from 19 January 2026 to 9 February 2026 under the standard federal quota pattern.
Selection mirrored the general constable chain - written screening test, physical measurement and efficiency trials, medical board and interview - but added an enhanced character-verification stage. Because Special Branch duties involve sensitive reporting, candidates underwent detailed antecedent checks covering their own record and close-family verification before appointment letters were issued.
Recruits completed a foundation course with Special Branch modules on observation, reporting and security drill, then joined detachments supporting diplomatic protection, red-zone security and event coverage. The cycle is closed; the standards below reflect the 2026 advertisement.
Quota note: Federal quota distribution (provincial, women, minority and special-person seats) applied as per the official advertisement.
